British Asian Youth Movements

Asian youth movements AYMs emerged during the late 1970s. Their fight was to make Britain their home, which resulted in a broad based black identity, that ultimately became recognised as a political identity. Ananandi Ramamurthy's research, as well as her book Black Star: Britains' Asian Youth feeds into the histiography and emergence of the AYMs.
